40th Annual Zoo Run Relay
The 40th Annual Zoo Run Relay takes place in San Antonio at 3903 North St. Mary's St., TX 78212 on September 11, 2026. The event offers a team relay and an individual option using the same looped course.
Registration for teams requires four different runners per team; one person may not run multiple legs. The relay uses a baton that contains the timing chip and must be carried by each runner during their leg. All people on the race route must be paid participants; children may not run alongside parents unless registered.
Registration benefits include access to the Runner's Village on race day, two drink tickets (alcohol requires valid ID), a custom gender-specific Zoo Run shirt, a Zoo Run drawstring bag, and one complimentary adult standard admission zoo ticket. Guaranteed shirt sizes apply for registrations completed by August 26, 2026.
Categories cover a range of team and individual groupings, including men, women, co-ed, masters, super masters, high school open, family open, 14 and under, corporate, military and first responders, and an Odds and Ends category. Awards are offered to top relay teams in most categories and to overall and age-group placings in the 4-mile individual. Packet pickup is distributed to one representative per team and is scheduled the day before the race and on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
