About the race
The 41st Annual Zoo Run Relay is a relay and individual running event held at the San Antonio Zoo, 3903 North St. Mary’s Street, San Antonio, TX 78212. The event offers team relay and individual race options and includes race-day access to the Runners Village.
- Relay teams of four, each runner runs a 2.1 mile loop.
- Individual run is two loops for a 4.2 mile total.
The relay uses a baton that contains the timing chip; each runner must carry the baton during their leg. All relay teams must have four different runners and each person on the race route must be a paid participant. Bibs for team members use the same number with different colors for each leg. Spectators may enter the Runners Village free of charge during the event entry window.
Registration includes access to the Runner’s Village, two drink tickets, a custom gender specific Zoo Run shirt, a Zoo Run drawstring bag, and one complimentary adult standard admission zoo ticket. Shirts are ordered on 8/27/26 and guaranteed sizes apply for registrations completed by August 26th. Strollers are not recommended on the race route but are allowed in the Runners Village.
Relay categories cover a range of divisions including men’s, women’s, co-ed, masters and age based groups, high school, family, corporate, military and first responders, and an Odds and Ends category. Awards are given to top relay teams by category and to overall and age group finishers in the individual race; finisher medals are provided to the first 1000 finishers.
