Cheshire Community YMCA Harvest Trail Race and Y Cup Relay
The Cheshire Community YMCA and Cheshire Land Trust are partnering for an all-ages running event at historic Ives Farm. The course winds through fields and trails on the property, with the start and finish at the restored barn. Proceeds support YMCA programs in the Cheshire community and the Cheshire Land Trust’s revitalization plans for the Ives Farm property.
Event distances and formats include:
- 5K Trail Race varied terrain on groomed wooded paths and open fields
- Y Cup Relay teams of three elementary students each run one mile
- Pumpkin Dash (400 m) free race for children 6 years and younger on the dirt path
Family-friendly activities are planned alongside the races and include pumpkin decorating, face painting, Halloween mask making, games, live music, and a fall-theme photo booth. The Pumpkin Dash is offered free for young children and finishes through the same barn finish line used by other races.
Separate free 6-week training series are listed: one series for elementary-aged students connected to the Y Cup Relay and another for runners preparing for the 5K Harvest Trail Race. These sessions are conducted at 435 North Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire, CT 06410.
