Beet Hunger 5K
The Beet Hunger 5K is a 5K run (3.1 miles) held at The Miller Center for Recreation & Wellness, 120 Hardwood Drive, Lewisburg, PA, on September 26, 2026. The race will be timed by Falcon Race Timing.
The event is organized as an initiative of the Union-Snyder Community Action Agency (CAA) and benefits the Union-Snyder Hunger Coalition. The coalition brings together community members and representatives from social service agencies, food pantries, and local schools to develop a coordinated approach to food insecurity. Since 2020 the coalition has grown to a membership network of more than 100 representatives.
Proceeds from the 5K support the Hunger Coalition's year-round work to address food insecurity. Funds are used to support the area's food access programs and to host awareness-building and educational events. The coalition also coordinates meetings with key stakeholder groups, including food access programs and local producers, and distributes information about food resources.
