Sasamat Mudskipper Fresh and Salty B.C Championships and Open Water Swim
The event, organised by Canaqua Sports and sanctioned by Triathlon B.C., takes place at Sasamat Lake, White Pine Beach and Belcarra Regional Park in Port Moody, British Columbia on September 27, 2026. It combines SwimRun and open-water swim formats on a single event day.
The Mudskipper Fresh and Salty B.C. Championship is a 20.0 km SwimRun course that alternates freshwater swims in Sasamat Lake, trail runs through Belcarra Regional Park, and saltwater swims before finishing back at Sasamat Lake. Top male and top female finishers are recognised as B.C. Champions. A shorter SwimRun option is offered as a 10.0 km challenge with alternating swim and run stages.
Open-water swim distances at Sasamat Lake are:
- 1.0 km loop
- 3.0 km loop
- 5.0 km loop
Race information and facilities: onsite washrooms and food are provided. Swim caps are supplied and must be worn for identification. Each participant will have a number inked on the upper back or shoulder. Water temperatures are listed around 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit, so wetsuits are optional but recommended. There is no scheduled rain date; delays or cancellations will occur only in the event of lightning. Non-members of a triathlon association must purchase a one-day registration to participate.
