Event overview
The Vancouver Triathlon takes place in Stanley Park, Vancouver, BC, on Monday, September 7, 2026. The event has been held since 2004 and offers multiple distance options, including relay team entries for Standard and Sprint categories. The venue uses English Bay for the swim, Park Drive for the bike, and the seawall for the run. All finishers receive a finisher’s medal and age-group awards are given in five-year increments for Standard, Sprint, and Relay divisions.
Course and race details
Distances:
- Standard: 1500 m swim, 38 km bike, 10 km run
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 18.8–19 km bike, 5 km run
- Tri it: 300 m swim, 9.4 km bike, 2.5 km run
The swim is held from the beach in English Bay; waves start with a beach run and the Standard swim is two laps with an exit to start the second lap. Lifeguards and watercraft will patrol the swim. Wetsuit rules depend on water temperature: wetsuits may be mandatory below a set temperature and prohibited above a set temperature; the swim will be cancelled if water is below the minimum threshold and converted to a duathlon if needed. The bike course is lap-based on Park Drive and is closed to traffic during the race; marshals monitor drafting. The run follows paved trails along English Bay with aid stations at transition exit and the turnaround.
