Event overview

The 2026 Vancouver Aquathlon is a swim-run event held at Second Beach in Stanley Park, Vancouver, BC on September 5, 2026. The event is limited to 100 participants and offers individual and two-person team categories. Entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable unless otherwise stated. A commemorative technical race shirt is included for registrations completed before August 21. Five percent GST and online processing fees apply.

Course, format and rules

The event format is Swim - Transition - Run. Distances:

  • 750 m swim in English Bay (marked course using Second Beach Open Water Swim buoys)
  • 2.5 km run on the Seawall (out-and-back, flat and paved)

The swim course has lifeguards, kayaks, and on-course support. Transition is at or near Second Beach. Wetsuits are allowed. Footwear is required on the run. Swim aids such as fins or paddles are not permitted. Headphones are not allowed on course. Chip timing is to be confirmed; participants are asked to wear the timing chip on the ankle. Cut-offs: swim 30 minutes; total event 90 minutes.

Safety and event services

Professional water safety resources and medical personnel are on site at Second Beach. Marshals and cones will mark the run turnaround. Participants must follow marshal instructions and yield to pedestrians on the Seawall as needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
