Event overview

Course, rules and safety

The swim course is a marked triangle/rectangle in English Bay using Second Beach Open Water Swim buoys. Lifeguards, kayaks, and other water safety support are on the swim course. Transition (T1) is at or near Second Beach. The run is a flat, paved Seawall out-and-back with marshals and cones at the turnaround. Wetsuits are allowed. Timing is chip-based (to be confirmed) and competitors are asked to wear the chip on the ankle. Shoes are required for the run. Swim aids such as fins or paddles are not permitted. Headphones are not allowed on course. Cut-offs are 30 minutes for the swim and 90 minutes for the total event. Medical support is on site and participants must follow marshal instructions and yield to pedestrians on the Seawall as needed.

Registration and entry terms

Registration fees vary by date and by entry type; team pricing is charged per person. Entries include a technical race shirt if registered before August 21. All entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable. Five percent GST and processing fees apply. Online registration closes at noon (PST) on September 5, 2026.
