HAROC
HAROC (Hanging Rock Challenge) is a trail race held at Hanging Rock State Park near Danbury, North Carolina. The event offers two distance options:
- 50 km
- 25 km
The courses combine smooth singletrack and very technical singletrack with small boulders and rocks along the trails. Each route passes waterfalls, large boulders, cliff sides, a fire tower, and scenic vistas. The 50 km course has roughly 5,000 ft of elevation gain and loss, while the 25 km course has about 2,500 ft of elevation gain and loss.
Aid stations are located approximately every 6 to 7.5 miles. At a minimum, aid stations provide water and Skratch Labs electrolyte drink. Minimum food items listed for aid stations include bananas, orange slices, potato chips, pretzels, PB&J, pickles, Snickers, and M&Ms. Most aid stations offer a variety of additional hot and cold foods that vary by station.
Event amenities noted for participants include a race T-shirt, a custom finisher award, well-stocked aid stations, and post-race food and socializing.
