Flat & Fast Rural Hall 5K - 2026
The event is the 19th annual Rural Hall Race, a community 5K run/walk held on October 24, 2026, at Rural Hall Elementary School, 275 College Street, Rural Hall, NC 27045. Proceeds benefit Rural Hall Elementary School.
The race uses a USATF-certified 5K course with gun start and chip timing. The course is a flat, fast out-and-back route that runs along a protected lane of Broad Street and is described as spectator-friendly. A 10K will not be offered in 2026.
Packet pick-up and registration are available before race day at AgSouth Farm Credit, 340 Bethania-Rural Hall Rd., and on race day at Rural Hall Elementary School. Online and walk-up registration are noted; registration opens May 8 and closes October 21, with a registration fee of $25.00.
Event services include a water station at the halfway point and a variety of finish-line refreshments such as bottled water, doughnuts, chocolate milk, cookies, fruit, and sports drinks. Race shirts are provided for adults and youth with specified fabric types. Awards include Olympic-style age group medals across multiple age categories. Additional features listed are a Halloween costume contest, cash prizes for top contest places, a live DJ, and community cheer squads.
