East Texas Ultra

The East Texas Ultra is a trail event at Mineola Nature Preserve in Mineola, TX. The event offers multiple distances on marked and supported loops that use the preserve’s piney trails.

Distances:

  • 50K (seven loops)
  • 28K (four loops)
  • 14K (two loops)
  • 7K (one loop)
  • 7K RUCK (ruck sack or vest allowed)

The course runs on a mix of gravel, dirt, and pavement using Navajo, Greer Hill, Sendera, and Rawhide trails. Each loop has about 200 feet of elevation gain, and the terrain is slightly hilly. The event is cupless; water refill stations are provided and participants are expected to carry their own bottles or hydration systems. The 50K allows one pacer per runner and pacers are permitted only on the last two loops of the 50K.

Ruck entries require a minimum carried weight of 25 pounds. Aid stations provide food and hydration, and the course includes markings, volunteers, and event photography. Registration fees shown range from $58.50 to $131.30 and the event is organized by Texas Outlaw Running. The race is part of the Texas Ultra Series, where finisher medals can combine into a larger series award and top finishers may qualify for the Big Texas Ultra 100K Championship near Austin, which includes cash prizes and a championship title.
