Zion Half Marathon : February 27, 2027
The Zion Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile road race that begins in Virgin, Utah, and follows the curves of the Virgin River as it climbs toward Springdale. Runners travel primarily on paved roads and a paved trail or bike path that runs parallel to SR-9, with a final right turn into the entrance of Cable Mountain Lodge just after mile 13. The course gains roughly 722 feet of elevation and has a steady, rolling uphill profile that opens increasing views of Zion National Park throughout the route.
The event operates cup free. Aid stations are provided every ~2 miles starting near mile 3, with five stations total; the first aid station near mile 3 serves as the official on-course clothing drop and a medic is positioned near the aid station at about mile 7. Aid stations include toilets, water, electrolyte drinks, gels, and basic first aid supplies. All clothing dropped at the designated clothing drop is taken to the finish for retrieval.
There is no parking at the start line; runners use shuttle service from Springdale and La Verkin or are dropped off in the designated area. Place medals are awarded to top finishers in overall and masters categories and to top age-group finishers; all finishers receive finisher medals. The event includes expo pickup for race shirts and offers race merchandise near the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
