Zion Half Marathon : February 27, 2027
The Zion Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile road race that begins in Virgin, Utah and follows the curves of the Virgin River and SR-9 into Springdale. The course runs largely on paved road and a paved bike path, with a steady uphill profile and approximately 722 feet of elevation gain. There are only two major turns on the course; most of the route stays on the main road or the adjacent trail and finishes at the entrance to Cable Mountain Lodge.
Event weekend includes an expo and bib pickup at Springdale Town Park the day before the race, with options for race-morning pickup or mailed bibs for a fee. There is no parking at the start line; the event provides shuttles from multiple Springdale locations and from La Verkin to transport runners to the start, and post-race shuttles return runners to those shuttle stops.
Aid stations are cup free to reduce waste and are placed roughly every 2 miles starting near mile 3. Aid station #1 serves as the on-course clothing drop and a medic is stationed near mile 7. All finishers receive a finisher medal; place medals are awarded to top overall and masters finishers and to top athletes in specified age groups. Volunteers can earn race credit for assigned shifts.
