Vacation Races - Zion Ultras
The Zion Ultras take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Ruby Rider Ranch in Apple Valley, Utah. The event offers multiple trail distances that run through high desert terrain adjacent to Zion National Park, with repeated views of thousand foot sandstone cliffs.
Courses are on technical dirt trails, singletrack, slickrock and mesa edges. The route descriptions note repeated loops and out-and-back sections, use of atv roads and washes, and sections that may include water crossings. Courses are marked with pink flags, ribbons and reflective tape at night markers.
Aid stations are placed on course and provide water, sports drink, fresh fruit, salty and sweet items, and portable toilets. Later aid stations add salt and electrolyte caps, anti-chafing agent, sunscreen and basic first aid; some stations may be staffed by a medic. Ultra distances may use drop bags; organizers specify labeling, size limits, and drop off deadlines, and offer a return or mail option for uncollected bags.
Crew and pacer access is restricted by distance: the Trail Half and 30K do not allow crew or pacers, the 60K permits crew only, and the 100K and 100 Mile allow both crew and pacers with registration and designated access points. Overall cutoff times apply for each distance and aid stations close according to posted minimum pace times. An expo with bib pickup is scheduled the day before the race at the ranch.
