Event overview
The Zilker Relays is a team relay held at Zilker Metropolitan Park on September 11, 2026. The event field centers on a festival-style Athlete’s Village with food, drinks, live music, awards, and post-race dinner included with team entry. All proceeds benefit the Marathon Kids program.
Distances
- 10 miles (team of four; each runner completes 2.5 miles)
- Kid’s Dash for children 13 and younger - out-and-back route; distance flexible
Race format and rules
Teams must register with four runners. Each team member runs a 2.5-mile loop from a central transition area using a relay baton. Chip timing is provided for relay teams and there is a “Just for Fun” category. Runners may run for more than one team if they pay an additional entry fee.
Dogs, bicycles, scooters, and other wheeled devices are not allowed on the course or near exchange zones, except for official bike leads and preapproved accommodation requests for athletes who require wheeled devices. Unapproved devices will be asked to leave the course. Unofficial photographers are not allowed on the course; official photographers will be present.
Logistics
Packet pickup occurs at Karavel Shoes in Austin on scheduled dates before race day; no race-day packet pickup is available. Road closures around Zilker Park begin at noon on race day. Bike parking, public parking, and ADA parking are provided at designated locations near the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
