Zilker Relays

Zilker Relays is a team relay and festival held at Zilker Metropolitan Park. The main event is a 10 mile relay contested by teams of four, with each teammate running a 2.5 mile loop from a central festival and transition area. There is also a Marathon Kids Dash for children 13 and younger; that route is an out and back so young participants may run any distance they choose.

Race entries include chip timing using a relay baton, a Zilker Relays t-shirt for each teammate, a post-race dinner, cold drinks, live music, and access to the Athlete’s Village. Top teams receive custom awards. Friends and family may attend and can purchase Athlete’s Village access for food and drinks.

Teams must register with four runners; team captains are responsible for filling teams. Runners may run for more than one team but must pay an additional entry fee to do so. Dogs are not allowed on the course or near the exchange zone, though leashed pets may join the festival area. Bicycles and scooters are not permitted on course except for official bike leads; exceptions can be arranged for athletes who require wheeled devices.
