Course and logistics
The course uses a well-marked 6.5 mile loop on trails above Onion Creek with about 640 feet of elevation gain per loop. Terrain features single track, some double track, rocky jeep road sections, creek-bed drops and climbs, mesquite and oak woods, and fast downhills. There is one on-course aid station and an aid station at the start/finish offering water, Tailwind, fruit, and grab-and-go snacks. The event is cupless; runners must bring their own cup or bottle. Collapsible cups will be available for purchase on site.
Timing is chip-based; chips are issued race morning, worn on the ankle, and must be returned after leaving the course. If a runner does not finish, they are recorded as DNF in the results and must turn in their timing chip. Parking is at the large sports field lots with a 0.25 mile walk to the primitive trailhead; ADA parking near Dinosaur Park can be arranged at packet pickup.
