ZigZag - 2027 Windmill Way Wander
The ZigZag Windmill Way Wander is a multi-distance road event held at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX on Saturday 16 January 2027. The event uses the Windmill Way route and passes through the villages of Higham, Gazeley, Ashley, Dalham and Denham. The route is all road with rolling hills and an elevation of around 600 ft.
Distances offered include:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra
Those running distances under a half marathon use an out-and-back section with a turnaround point, while the half is one loop and the marathon is two loops. The ultra follows the course to the 5k turnaround point. An aid station supplying drinks and nibbles is provided approximately every 10k. The race HQ or base camp is located at the start and lap point and will include the water and aid station. Parking is included in the entry price. The event operates a seven hour cut off and uses a mass start format.
Entrants must be at least 18 years old. Maximum field size is 300. Upon entry participants receive a confirmation and a link to the race briefing information pack. The event is cupless so participants are expected to bring their own bottles or cups. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal or, where available, a lucky dip finisher medal.
