'Twas The Run Before Christmas
'Twas The Run Before Christmas is a multi-distance running event at High Lodge, Thetford Forest (IP27 0AF) on 13 December 2026. The event uses a lap format on a route that encompasses a 5.3 km loop within the forest; the final route is to be confirmed.

The course is mainly pathway with a short section of trails and woodland. A water and aid station is located at the lap point. A heavy half marathon is organised as a five-lap standard with the option to change to six or seven laps on the day. The ultra marathon is organised as a nine-lap standard with the option to increase laps up to twelve, subject to available time. Event cut-offs are six hours overall, with a shorter four-hour cut-off applying for the later start option.
Event logistics include discounted parking at £5 for participants with a QR code. The event base is adjacent to Oak Lodge, where registration takes place and complimentary tea, coffee and cake are provided after the run. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal or, if available, a lucky-dip medal. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own cup or bottle. Twenty percent of the entry fee supports upkeep and care of the woodland. Road trainers are suggested; trail shoes may be useful depending on pre-event weather.
