Twas The Run Before Christmas - Thetford Forest
Twas The Run Before Christmas takes place on Sunday 13 December 2026 at High Lodge, Thetford Forest, Brandon IP27 0AF. The event offers multiple fixed-distance options on a looped course within the forest grounds; the route is a 5.3 km loop and the final route is TBC.
Distances available include:
- 5k
- 10k
- 15k
- Half marathon
- Heavy half marathon (standard 5 laps, option to change to 6 or 7 laps on the day)
- Marathon
- Ultra marathon (standard 9 laps, with the possibility to increase up to 12 laps depending on time available)
There is an event cut off of six hours; a four-hour cut off applies for a later start wave. A water and aid station is located at the lap point. The course is mainly pathway with a small section of trails and woodland; road trainers are suggested but trail shoes may be useful depending on weather. The event is cupless, so participants should bring cups or bottles for refilling.
Registration and post-race teas, coffee and cake are based adjacent to Oak Lodge. Parking will be available at a discounted rate for participants with a QR code. A bespoke medal is provided on completion or a lucky dip medal is offered where available. Twenty percent of the entry fee contributes to forest upkeep.
