'Twas The Run Before Christmas
The event is scheduled for 13 December 2026 at High Lodge, Thetford Forest, IP27 0AF. It uses a lap-based forest route and offers a range of distances that share the same woodland circuit.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- 15k
- Half Marathon
- Heavy Half Marathon
- Full Marathon
- Ultra Marathon
The main lap measures about 5.3–5.4 km, is almost entirely off-road, and has roughly 12 m of climb across the loop (high approximately 58 m, low approximately 46 m). All distances run the same lap repeatedly, with the heavy half typically set at five laps (options to change to six or seven on the day) and the ultra set at nine laps with potential to extend up to 12 laps if time allows. A water aid station is located at the lap point to support refuelling.
The event base is adjacent to Oak Lodge where registration is handled and participants receive tea, coffee and cake on completion. A bespoke event medal is issued at the finish, with a lucky dip medal option when available. Parking is discounted to £5 for participants with a QR code. The event is cupless, so participants should bring cups or bottles for refilling. Twenty percent of the entry fee supports forest upkeep. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
