Christmas Canter
The Christmas Canter takes place at the Suffolk Running Centre in Bury St Edmunds. This end-of-year event utilizes the Hargrave Half course for longer distances and Mount Barrow for shorter routes. The course surface consists of road and pavement with an undulating profile. The event has a maximum capacity of 300 entrants and a seven-hour cut-off time.
The event offers several distance options:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra
Participants running distances shorter than a half marathon follow an out-and-back route. The half marathon consists of a single loop, while the marathon requires two loops. Those completing the ultra distance run the loops plus an additional segment to the 5k turnaround point.
Race Headquarters serves as the start and lap point, where an aid station providing water, drinks, and snacks is located. Additional aid stations are positioned every 10k along the route. The event is cupless, requiring participants to bring their own bottles or containers for refills. Parking is included in the entry price. Finishers receive a bespoke medal designed for the event, or they can select a medal from previous events if they choose the lucky dip option. Fancy dress is encouraged for all participants.
