Valley of the Owls Run
The route passes through the village of Ousden, known locally as the Valley of the Owls in Suffolk, and uses some of the oldest roads in England with surrounding countryside scenery. The event is based at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX.
The organiser will use the Dalham Kiln route as a half marathon loop. Participants on the 5k and 10k follow the Denham Flats route. Runners covering distances under a half marathon use an out and back with required turnarounds. The half marathon is one loop, the full marathon is two loops, and the ultra follows the run to the 5k turnaround point.
Distances available:
- 5k on the Denham Flats out and back
- 10k on the Denham Flats out and back
- Half marathon on the Dalham Kiln loop
- Full marathon as two Dalham Kiln loops
- Ultra using the 5k turnaround route
Support and logistics are provided from Race HQ/Base Camp at the start and lap point, where a water and aid station will be located. There will be an aid station offering drinks and nibbles approximately every 10k. Parking is included in the entry price. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own bottles or cups. Only bone conduction headphones are permitted. A bespoke finisher medal is supplied, with a lucky dip finisher option available for some distances. A seven hour cut off applies.
