Event overview
The Valley of the Owls Run takes place on 7 June 2026 at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. The event is organised by Zig Zag Running and has a maximum of 300 entrants. Entries close on 06/06/2026. Minimum age to enter is 18 years. Distance options offered are:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half
- Marathon
- Ultra
A bespoke finisher medal is provided, with a possible "lucky dip" option for a previous event medal.
Course and logistics
The half marathon uses the Dalham Kiln half-marathon loop. The 5k and 10k use the Goldings Hills route. Distances under the half marathon follow an out-and-back with a required turnaround. The half is one loop, the marathon is two loops, and the ultra involves running to the 5k turnaround point. Aid stations with drinks and nibbles are placed approximately every 10k. Race HQ and base camp are located at the start and lap point and include a water/aid station. Parking is included in the entry price.
The event is cupless, so participants need their own bottles or cups for refilling. Only bone conductor headphones are allowed. Transfer policy: transfers to another event are permitted if made more than seven days before the event; transfers to other participants are allowed up to 48 hours before the event; a £10 transfer fee applies for transfers less than seven days but no later than 48 hours; a virtual option with 15% off a future event is available if unable to attend within seven days.
