Remembrance Run - Peterborough
The Remembrance Run takes place at Ferry Meadows, one of the largest country parks in the region located less than three miles from Peterborough City Centre. The event is held at the heart of Nene Park, featuring a multi-terrain course that traverses varied landscapes, including forest gravel footpaths and grass areas.
This event follows a timed format where participants can run as much or as little as they choose within a set period. Runners can select a 6-hour or a 4-hour duration depending on their chosen start. The course consists of a 5.3 km lap. As long as a runner leaves the base camp before the time limit expires, they are permitted to complete one final lap.
Distances available include:
- 5 km (1 lap)
- 10 km (approx. 2 laps)
- Half Marathon (typically 5 laps)
- Full Marathon (8 laps)
- Ultra Marathon (9 laps or more)
The Race HQ is based at the Lakeside Centre on the watersports side of the park. Straightforward logistics include an aid station at the start and lap point of every circuit. This is a cupless event, so participants must bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. A 2-minute race freeze is observed at 11:00 am.
The terrain is suitable for road trainers, though trail shoes may be used depending on weather conditions. Chargeable parking is available on-site, with registration located near the start arch and gazebos. Participants receive a medal upon completion, with options for a bespoke event-specific design or a general finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
