Zig Zag Running Birthday Run
The Birthday Run takes place at Brandon Country Park in the heart of Thetford Forest as part of Zig Zag Running's seventh anniversary. The course is a multi terrain loop through the forest, made up of gravel footpaths and grass.
The lap measures 5.3 km (3.3 mi), is almost entirely off road, and includes about 61 m of climb with a high point around 48 m and a low point around 17 m. A GPX file for the course is available.
There are two timed formats: a six hour option and a four hour option. Runners may complete as many laps as they can within the chosen time; if a runner leaves the base camp before the end of the session they may start another lap. Standard lap counts noted by the organiser include a heavy half marathon at five laps with options to increase, and an ultra as standard at nine laps with the possibility to extend up to about 12 laps.

On site there is a Race HQ and aid station at the lap point, marshals to direct parking and registration, and a baggage area left at participants own risk. Parking at the park is chargeable. The event is cupless so runners should bring their own bottles or cups. A bespoke finisher medal is available, with a lower cost lucky dip medal option also offered.
