ZigZag Birthday Run at Brandon Country Park
The event is held at Brandon Country Park in the heart of Thetford Forest. It uses a repeated lap around the park measuring 5.3 km on a multi terrain route made up of gravel footpaths and some grass areas.
Participants choose between a longer or shorter timed format; they run as many laps as they can within the chosen time. Standard lap counts given as examples include five laps for a heavy half marathon and nine laps for an ultra marathon, with options to increase laps according to time available.
Distances offered at the event include:
- 5 km, 10 km, Half Marathon, Full Marathon, Ultra Marathon
- Lap length is 5.3 km on forest footpaths and grass
The event provides an aid station at the Race HQ/Base Camp on each lap. Race registration and bib collection are managed on site; a marshal will direct parking and arrival procedures. Parking at the park is chargeable. A baggage area is available but items are left at participants own risk.
Organisers supply a bespoke event medal at the finish unless the entrant selected a non specific finisher medal option. Virtual entries are available for those who want a medal but cannot attend in person. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own bottle or cup for refilling.
