Zig Zag Marathon and Half Marathon
The event is held at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. It offers two fixed-distance road races on measured local routes with a maximum field of 300 entrants and a minimum age of 18 years. Entries close on 07/05/2027.
The marathon uses the officially measured Kirtling Route. It is fully on road, mildly undulating and described as scenic. The half marathon is one loop on the Windmill Route. The event operates a seven hour cut off for the marathon.
Aid stations providing drinks and nibbles are placed approximately every 10 km. Race headquarters and the base camp are located at the start and lap point and include a water and aid station. Parking is included in the entry price.
The event is cupless, so participants must bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. Only bone conduction headphones are permitted. Roads used are generally quiet but participants are asked to be aware of traffic and to wear bright clothing for visibility.
Finishers receive a bespoke event medal; a lucky dip finisher option may be available, offering a randomly allocated previous finisher medal instead. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
