Zig Zag Marathon & Half Marathon
The event takes place on 10 May 2026 at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. There are two fixed distances offered:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
The marathon uses the Kirtling Route, an officially measured, fully on-road loop described as mildly undulating and scenic. The half marathon is a single-loop Windmill Route. Course surfaces are road and pavement; roads are generally quiet but participants should be aware of traffic and wear bright clothing.
Aid stations with drinks and nibbles are provided approximately every 10 km. Race headquarters and the lap point are co-located at the start and include a water and aid station. The event enforces a seven-hour cut off. Parking is included in the entry price. The event has a cupless policy, so participants must bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. Only bone conductor headphones are permitted.
Entry is limited to 300 participants. Minimum age is 18 years. Entries close on 09/05/2026. A bespoke finisher medal will be issued, with an optional lucky dip finisher medal drawn from previous events. The organiser offers a transfer policy that allows transfers to other participants and to other events under specified time and fee conditions, and a virtual option with a future-event discount when appropriate.
