Event
The Zig Zag Challenge is a timed running event offering either a six-hour or a four-hour option. Participants run repeated laps of a multi-terrain loop of 5.3 km through Brandon Country Park in the heart of Thetford Forest. The course follows gravel footpaths and some grass areas and is described as undulating trail. Runners may rest between laps and complete as many laps as they are able within the chosen timed period. As a guide, a heavy half marathon is typically five laps and a standard ultramarathon nine laps, with options to adjust lap counts on the day.
Location and logistics
The event is based at Brandon Country Park, Bury Road, Brandon, Suffolk, postcode IP27 0SU. The park is south of Brandon, near the A11; Brandon Railway Station is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) away. Parking at the park is chargeable and marshals will direct traffic on the day. Race headquarters and the lap point are at the start area, with an aid station on each lap. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. A baggage area is provided but items are left at the owner’s risk.
Additional details: maximum 100 entrants, minimum age 18 years, entries close 28/03/2026 and transfers close 22/03/2026.
