Yosemite Half Marathon
The Yosemite Half Marathon is a 13.1 miles race in the Sierra National Forest that finishes at Recreation Point on Bass Lake. The course begins on wide fire roads and scenic trails, moves into a long, fast downhill section on pavement, and finishes with several miles along the Bass Lake shoreline.
Terrain on course includes both dirt and paved sections and gentle rolling grades with an overall net descent on the second half. The event is cup free; aid stations are located near miles 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 and provide water, electrolyte drink, Honey Stinger gels, and bathrooms. Oranges and bananas are available at miles 5 and 7. Runners are asked to use a reusable bottle, reusable cup, or a hydration pack.
Expo and bib pickup are held at Recreation Point Campground the day before the race. Start line access is by race shuttles serving Bass Lake area lodging and Oakhurst; there is no parking or drop off at the start line and specific shuttle instructions are sent to runners before race day. Spectator parking is limited near Bass Lake, and organizers recommend using Oakhurst parking and shuttle options to reach the finish area.
All finishers receive a finisher medal; place medals and age group awards are given according to race categories and timing policies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
