Yosemite Half Marathon
The Yosemite Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile race held May 8, 2027, around Bass Lake and within the Sierra National Forest under a special use permit. The course mixes wide fire roads and rolling singletrack with a long, fast downhill on pavement, then follows the shoreline of Bass Lake to a finish at Recreation Point. The surface is a point-to-point combination of dirt and paved sections, with total ascent and descent of approximately +304 ft / -2,285 ft and a four-hour course cutoff.
Logistics include an expo and bib pickup the day before the race and a shuttle system serving Oakhurst and Bass Lake area lots; there is no parking or drop-off at the start line. Campground check-in begins May 6 and check-out is by May 9; RVs and trailers are not allowed at the campground.
There are five cup-free aid stations near miles 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11. Each station provides water, electrolyte drink, bathrooms, and Honey Stinger gels; miles 5 and 7 also offer oranges and bananas. Runners must bring a reusable cup, bottle, or hydration pack for on-course fluids.
Chip timing is used for awards. Overall and Masters awards are based on chip time but competitors must start in the first wave to be eligible for overall awards.
