Event overview
The Shadow of the Giants 50k & 20k Run is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Fish Camp, California (7798 White Chief Mountain Rd). This is the 36th running of the event. The race offers the following distances:
- 50k
- 20k
Early start options are available for both distances. Early starters are not eligible for overall awards but are eligible for age-group awards. The 50k has a time limit expressed as a duration - eight hours for regular starters and nine hours for early starters.
Logistics and course
The race uses trails in the Sierra National Forest. Detailed course maps and updates will be provided closer to race day. Aid stations are located roughly 5-7 miles apart and will supply food, gels, electrolyte drinks, water, Coca-Cola, ginger ale, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. Poles are permitted on course. Pets and pacers are not allowed on the trail; service animals are allowed on campus only.
Camp Green Meadows serves as the event campus for pre-race accommodations, bib pick-up, and a pre-race lasagna dinner (dinner prepared from pre-orders). Bunks are first-come, first-served and shared facilities include showers and restrooms. Parking restrictions apply on campus; large or oversized vehicles are not permitted on campus.
