Shadow of the Giants 50k & 20k
The Shadow of the Giants is a trail running event held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, near Fish Camp, California, with the start and finish at Camp Green Meadows Outdoor School, 7798 White Chief Mountain Road, Fish Camp 93623. This edition is the 36th annual running of the event.
The race offers the following distance options:
- 50k
- 20k
- 50k Early Start
- 20k Early Start
Aid stations are placed at intervals of roughly 5 to 7 miles and provide gels, electrolyte drink and water, soft drinks, fruit, salty and sweet snacks, peanut butter and jelly, pickles, and basic first aid supplies. The 50k has an eight hour time limit; early starters receive an additional hour.
Bib pickup is available the day before at Camp Green Meadows and on race morning at the camp cafeteria. Overnight accommodations in dorm bunks are available at Camp Green Meadows the night before the race; bunks are first come, bring bedding, and tent camping is not permitted on the campus. Showers and restrooms are available onsite. Parking is limited on campus and additional parking is available on nearby Forest Service roads.
Event rules note that no dogs or pacers are allowed on the trail and that poles are permitted. Preordered pre-race dinners are served in the camp cafeteria.
