Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run/Walk
The event takes place on July 4, 2026 in Yorktown, Virginia, with activity centered near the York High School tennis courts at 9300 George Washington Memorial Highway. The 8K course is USATF certified (VA16022RT). The event offers in-person and virtual formats and includes on-site post race refreshments.

The 8K and 5K are chip timed. The 8K ruck division requires participants under 150 pounds to carry 10 pounds and those over 150 pounds to carry 20 pounds; participants may run, walk, or ruck. Virtual participants may complete their event at a course and time of their choosing by the posted deadline, may not use times from another race, and are not eligible for awards. Virtual swag and finisher items can be mailed for an additional fee.
Awards and items: the 8K gives overall awards to the top three men and women and age group awards beginning at 14 and under with five year increments; the ruck division awards the top overall male and female. The first registrants who finish receive commemorative medals and 5K finishers receive collectible coins. Custom race T shirts are available and T shirt size is guaranteed for those registered by June 24, 2026.
