Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run/Walk
The Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run/Walk takes place on July 4, 2026, in Yorktown, Virginia. The event features a USATF certified 8K course (VA16022RT) that utilizes the historic Yorktown Battlefield Tour Road. Participants gather near the York High School tennis courts at 9300 George Washington Memorial Highway and are escorted to the start line by Fife and Drummers.

Participants in the 8K events receive a custom race shirt, provided they register by the June 24, 2026 deadline. The first 350 individuals to register and complete the 8K will receive a die-cast commemorative medal. This distance includes awards for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as age group awards in five-year increments. The 8K Ruck division also features awards for the top overall male and female finishers.
Those participating in the 5K Fun Run receive a custom shirt while supplies last and a finisher coin. After the races, the event provides refreshments and a post-race celebration for attendees.
