The Lost in the Woods 5k takes place on Saturday, December 19, 2026, in Newport News, Virginia. The course is two loops that run through the campus and the woods behind Peninsula Catholic High School and is decorated with Christmas lights. Charity and organizer
Race registration profits, after costs, are designated for charity. A set of competing teams will vie for the right to select which charity receives 50% of the race registration profits; the other 50% of race profits and any additional donations will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event is hosted by PCYT, a club focused on teaching teenagers community service and acts of kindness. Examples of the club’s activities include helping police clean up a beach, packing lunches for people experiencing homelessness, and donating a car to refugees.
