Lost in the Woods 5k
The Lost in the Woods 5k is a running and walking event held at Peninsula Catholic High School in Newport News, Virginia. The event features a two-loop course that passes through the school campus and the surrounding woods. Participants navigate a route decorated with holiday lights for the winter season.
Available distances include:
- 5 km running and walking race
- 500 m Kids Fun Run
The race is organized by PCYT, a student club focused on community service. All registration profits are donated to charitable organizations. Half of the proceeds directly benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The remaining half is awarded to a charity selected by the winning competition team.
Individuals may participate as independent runners or as part of a team. Teams consisting of five to seven members compete to win the opportunity to designate where the additional charitable funds are directed. The course map and the list of participating teams and their chosen charities are available through the event organizers.
