18th Annual Sleighbell 5K Run/Walk
The event takes place on December 12, 2026 in Williamsburg, Virginia, at Jamestown High School. The course follows sections of the Virginia Capital Trail, the Powhatan Creek Trail and the Greensprings Trail. The course is not USATF certified. The event is part of the 2026 Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix.
Multiple participation options are offered:
- 5K Run
- 5K Competitive Walk - competitors must walk the entire course to remain eligible for walk awards
- 1 Mile Fun Run - untimed
- Virtual 5K - virtual participants receive a race T and finisher medal; packets can be picked up at Colonial Sports or mailed for a $9.00 fee
Early packet pickup is available at Colonial Sports, 1303 Jamestown Road, on December 11; this pickup is noted as a final opportunity to register. There is no race day registration.
A portion of proceeds will benefit the WJCC School Health Initiative Program (S.H.I.P.). Donations collected at the event will go to From His Hands, a consortium of local churches that provides food assistance.
Awards are planned for overall and age-group finishes in both the 5K run and the 5K competitive walk, plus masters categories and a middle-of-the-pack prize. Finishing medals are available for finishers while they last. An ugly sweater contest and a food donation collection are included among event activities.
