Event Overview
The Malham Trail Half Marathon is a trail running event held in the village of Malham. This race serves as a component of the Due North Trail Trilogy and follows United Kingdom Athletics rules under a license from the Trail Running Association. The course begins and ends at the Malham Show Field.
Course Details
The route takes participants through several notable landmarks, including Malham Cove and Malham Tarn. The path features an ascent to Weets Top, followed by a long descent. The course is partially way-marked, and participants can access a GPX file for navigation. Aid stations are positioned along the route providing water, juice, fruit, and sweets; however, the race operates on a cup-less basis, meaning runners must carry their own bottles or cups.
Participation and Equipment
Registration is open to runners aged 17 and over. There is a mandatory minimum kit requirement for all participants, which includes:
- A waterproof jacket
- A cup or bottle for hydration
- A mobile phone equipped with a location application
