Yellow Brick Road 5K
The Yellow Brick Road 5K is a community sports event held in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. This event celebrates the 86th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, commemorating the historic 1939 premiere. The course features scenic views and is professionally chip-timed. Both starting and finishing lines are situated in the downtown area by City Hall, overlooking Oz Plaza.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 5K Run (3.1 miles)
- Two Mile Walk
- Kids Fun Run (0.5 miles)
Registered participants in the 5K and two-mile walk receive a custom t-shirt and a commemorative finisher medal featuring the anniversary logo. Awards are presented to the top male and female overall winners, and age group awards are also provided. Additionally, groups of participants can compete for the Team Challenge Trophy.
For teams consisting of four or more members, packets including bibs and shirts are bundled together for a single representative to collect. Individual registration is also available for those not participating as part of a larger group.
