Yellow Brick Road 5K Run/Walk
The Yellow Brick Road 5K is an annual community run and walk held on the first Saturday in June and organized by the Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce. First staged in 2006, the event draws hundreds of participants each year and uses a Wizard of Oz theme to reflect the world premiere of the film at Oconomowoc’s Strand Theater on August 12, 1939. Costumes are commonly worn.

- Free 1/2 mile Kids Fun Run for children ages ten and under
The course begins at Village Green Park overlooking Fowler Lake, follows the isthmus between Fowler Lake and Lake Lac La Belle, passes through a neighborhood section and returns to the Village Green. Finishers receive a custom collector’s finisher medal; 5K participants receive a cotton event t shirt, a finisher medal, chip timing and are eligible for overall and age group awards. Team Challenge entries require teams of four or more and have separate trophies.
Refreshment booths near the finish provide bottled water and a selection of fruit and individually wrapped snacks. The Kids Fun Run is limited to 100 participants and awards a finisher medal.
