The Run Turkey Run 5K
The Run Turkey Run 5K is a community running event held in Watertown, Wisconsin, at Riverside Park, 812 Labaree Street. Since 2012 the event has brought nearly 1,000 runners, walkers, families, volunteers, and spectators together on Thanksgiving morning and has raised more than $235,000 for community organizations.
The 2026 edition continues the event's community focus and directs the majority of funds raised toward developing new lighted community pickleball courts at a local city park. Organizers state a fundraising goal of $50,000 for the court project. The event materials note that pickleball courts will provide a place for people of different ages and abilities to be active and spend time together with extended hours from lighting.
The event program includes multiple distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1K Kid's Run
Registration opens on 2026-08-13 and closes on 2026-10-07. Published registration fees for 2026 are $40.00 for the 5K and $25.00 for the 1K Kid's Run. Organizers also encourage contributions to the fundraising goal, including optional donations at registration and donation alternatives such as forgoing a sweatshirt so funds can support the pickleball courts.
