The Yakima River Canyon Marathon and Half-Marathon are point-to-point races on a USATF certified course along Washington State Route 821 between Ellensburg and Selah, Washington. Both courses follow the Yakima River Canyon and pass through Yakima Valley orchard and ranch country. The marathon route includes two major hills, multiple curves, and a long downhill section that results in a net elevation loss of a few hundred feet.

Logistics and race services

Race headquarters is at the Selah Civic Center. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Selah Civic Center and on race morning at the Days Inn in Ellensburg and at the Selah Civic Center. Bus transportation is provided from local hotels to the starting areas; half-marathon participants are bused to the half-marathon start. The half marathon is limited to 200 entries due to bus logistics; there is no current limit on marathon entries.

Entries include a T-shirt, race-day transportation if needed, a finisher medal, and a finisher’s certificate. Drop bags may be left at designated locations and will be supervised, but organizers are not responsible for valuables. Aid stations are placed every 2–3 miles and offer water, Powerade, and basic medical supplies; medical personnel and restrooms are available. The course has a seven-hour limit and an early-start option is available for approved marathon participants; early starters are not eligible for age-group awards. Awards are given to top finishers and by age divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
