The Pemby Pounder Trail Run
The Pemby Pounder is a trail running event located in Pemberton, British Columbia. The race takes place within the Mackenzie trail network at the base of Mount Currie. The courses feature a variety of landscapes, including old growth forests, rugged alpine vistas, and views of the valley floor.
All race distances start and finish at Den Duyf Park. The terrain is defined by steep switchback climbs through the forest, technical singletrack descents, and ridge running. Over 90% of the course terrain consists of singletrack trails.
Participants can choose from three competitive distances:
- 9 km: featuring 261 m of total ascent and descent.
- 22 km: featuring 963 m of total ascent and descent.
- 42 km (Trail Marathon): featuring 1861 m of ascent and 1862 m of descent.
In addition to the trail races, the event includes the Walk for Wellness, a 9 km charitable walk held in partnership with the Pemberton Health Foundation. This non-competitive walk follows the trail network to support local healthcare initiatives.
The event hub at Den Duyf Park provides a central location for participants and spectators to gather. The race utilizes the established Mackenzie trail network, supported by local trail associations and community organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
