XC Experience
XC Experience is a cross country 5k held on the R-S Central High School course in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. The race follows a two lap layout over a mix of mostly packed dirt and grass trails with some paved sections. The distance for the event is 3.1 Miles.
Runners begin on the north end zone of the football field and enter wooded sections that run beneath a canopy of foliage and alongside open fields. After completing the loops through the woods and fields, participants return to the stadium and finish on the track.
The course routing allows spectators to see and cheer on participants several times during the race. The event description notes the course is suitable for runners, joggers, and walkers and uses the high school cross country facilities and stadium for start and finish features.
