Ache Around the Lake - Tryon NC
Ache Around the Lake is held on October 10, 2026, around Lake Lanier with start and finish at the Tryon Antique Mall area, 1005 S. Trade Street, Tryon, NC. The event spans the landscapes of Tryon, NC and Landrum, SC and offers multiple running options on the same day.
Distances:
- 8K course covering about 4.97 miles and traversing parts of two states.
- 2 Mile race.
- Kids 1 Mile Fun Run for children.
The 8K course is hilly and undulating. The steepest incline, called GRUNT #1, occurs just over 1/4 mile into the course. Aid stations are located at mile 2 and again around mile 4.
Registration details for the main races show an opening date of January 17, 2026, and a closing date of September 15, 2026, with listed fees of $40 for the 8K and $30 for the 2 Mile. The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run is free for ages 10 and under, is not timed, and has separate registration that remains open later. Free kid entries are made possible by the Ann Jacob Toms Fund at Polk County Community Foundation.
