WTRC Turkey Trot

The WTRC Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving Day running event established in 1993. The 34th edition takes place in 2026 at the Fibermax Center for Discovery, 1121 Canyon Lake Dr., Lubbock, TX.

12K Run

Registration opens on October 10, 2026. Registrations received by midnight on November 15 will guarantee shirt size. Entry fees listed are $25 for members and non-member children age 4 to 12, and $35 for non-members for both distances. The event is limited to 1500 participants and does not offer race day registration. The event policy states no pets and no refunds.

Age and equipment rules are specified: the 2 mile run/walk has a minimum age of 4, the 12K requires a minimum age of 16, and strollers are allowed only in the 2 mile event with a minimum age of 18 for the stroller operator. The 12K course holds USATF certification number TX12147ETM. Packet pickup is scheduled on the Tuesday and Wednesday before race day at FootTech on 19th Street.
