About the race
The Worth the Weight Race is a community running event in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, hosted at 827 Diamond Blvd in the Old Westmont neighborhood. Multiple race formats are offered, including an in-person kids race, 5K and 10K courses, and a virtual 5K option with a mailed T-shirt and goodie bag for virtual participants. Bathrooms are available on site.
Course notes:
- 1 mile kids fun run for children up to 7 years old.
- 5K run/walk, open to participants aged 8 and above.
- 10K course, open to participants aged 12 and older.
- Virtual 5K for remote participants who will receive event apparel.
Both the 5K and 10K begin from the gravel parking area for Stackhouse Park and run through streets of Old Westmont. The 5K route includes a turn-around and water station at The Westmont Grove and returns to finish near the Westmont Elementary School parking lot. The 10K follows the same early section and continues with an extended loop that includes Menoher Boulevard, Sunnehanna Drive, Emmett Drive, Club Drive, and related neighborhood streets; the 10K course includes a second water station near the Rainbow Room Preschool and Westmont Methodist Church driveway.
Registration fees listed by event are $10 for the kids race, $20 for the 5K and virtual 5K, and $30 for the 10K. Race timing is provided by Runner's High. Food, drinks, music, and prizes are planned for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
