Event Overview
The Fool's Run 10K & 5K takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2026. It marks the 47th anniversary of the 10K race, which began in 1979 and is considered the longest continuously held 10K in Pennsylvania. A 5K event was added in 2015. The event is held on the Ghost Town Trail at Saylor Park in Black Lick, Pennsylvania.
Course Details
Both the 10K and 5K courses are out-and-back routes on the Ghost Town Trail, finishing near the pavilion in Saylor Park. A notable feature is that there are no road crossings on either course.
Awards and Amenities
All finishers receive a medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, top male and female masters runners, and the top three in five-year age groups up to 70+. Runners and walkers are welcome in both events and are eligible for the same awards. For 2026, the event will feature chip timing by Gingerbread Timing, with live results uploaded every 30 seconds during the race. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by March 23, 2026. Water is provided on the course and at the finish line.
Registration and Rules
Family registration is available for three or more participants from the same household. Online registration closes on Wednesday, April 2, 2026. Race-day registration is available starting at 8:30 AM at Saylor Park. For safety and insurance reasons, baby strollers and dogs are not permitted.
