World Race for Hope - Troy
The World Race for Hope in Troy is presented by Waste-Free Dayton and offers two registration options: an in-person, chip-timed 5K on the river levee bike path in Troy, and a free virtual 5K that can be completed anywhere during January.
The in-person course starts and finishes at the Gazebo on the Great Miami River levee by Hobart Arena, with an out-and-back route on the bike path along the river. Chip timing for the in-person race is provided by Speedy Feet. Parking is available in the Hobart Arena parking lot at 255 Adams St., Troy, OH 45373.
Registration phases and fees listed by the organizer are: early registration (November 1 to December 1) at $20, normal registration (December 2 to December 26) at $25, and late registration (December 27 to January 1) at $30. The virtual option can be completed indoors or outdoors, on pavement, trails, track, or treadmill, at any time during January; the virtual race is offered at no fee.
The event follows a zero-waste initiative: participants are asked to bring reusable water bottles, shirts are not provided, and post-race food waste will be composted. Giveaways are to be determined. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
