Dayton Turkey Trot
The Dayton Turkey Trot is a November race held in Dayton, Ohio on Nov. 28, 2026. The event includes chip timing and courses that start and finish on the Welcome Stadium track, then continue on streets and paved paths along the Dayton riverfront. The half marathon and 5K courses are USATF certified under number OH22005DH through 12/31/2032.

The event is chip timed with timing chips integrated into bib numbers. Course time limits are published for both distances. Water stations provide water and half marathon stations also include sports drink. There is no gear check on site and participant gear must be picked up at pre-event pickup or on race morning; mailed gear may incur a fee.
Finish line items include a commemorative finisher medal and Bill’s Donuts. Event gear options include a classic t-shirt or an upgraded thin-tec soft polyester pullover. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall for the half marathon and 5K; age categories range from 10 and under through 70 and older. A kids dash finisher award is given to all participants.
The race supports the Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter, which serves nine counties and provides support services and education for families and caregivers. The event is part of the nationwide Thankful Turkey Run/Walk and contributes results to a national leaderboard. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
