About the race
The Dayton Turkey Trot is a chip timed community running event in Dayton, Ohio held on November 28, 2026. The event offers multiple distance options and a kids dash, with both courses starting and finishing on the Welcome Stadium track at 1601 S. Edwin C.
Moses Blvd. and then running on streets and paved paths along the Dayton riverfront. The Half Marathon and 5K courses are USATF certified (OH22005DH) through 12/31/2032. Race features include a commemorative finisher medal and finish line refreshments from Bill’s Donuts.
Event gear choices for participants include a classic t-shirt or an upgraded thin-tec soft polyester pullover. The event is chip timed and posts results and photos after the race; awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall for the chip timed Half Marathon and 5K categories. Support and charity are part of the event. The Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter is listed as the event charity; the chapter serves nine counties and provides support services and education for people and caregivers in the Miami Valley.
