New Year's Resolution Run - Asheville, NC
The 13th Annual New Year's Resolution Run presented by Hunter Subaru takes place on January 1, 2027, in downtown Asheville. The event begins and concludes in Pack Square and offers road courses through nearby neighborhoods.
Distances
- 5K - 3.1 miles through the Montford Neighborhood, finishing on Spruce Street.
- 10K - 6.2 miles extending into the Grove Park area, finishing on Spruce Street.
Both routes start and finish in Pack Square. There will be a water station on course supplying water, Gatorade, and snacks. Most streets remain open to traffic, so participants should run or walk accordingly.
Event features for 2027 include a commemorative 2027 finisher medal for all participants, a free event sweatshirt for early registration before December 6th (a $25 fee applies after that deadline), and discounted pricing for children 12 and under. The 10K will offer higher cash prizes in 2027 for the overall top three male and female finishers. Overall and age group awards are provided, and results are recorded with professional chip-timing.
A post-race gathering will be held in Pack Square. A virtual participation option is available; virtual participants receive mailed swag when offered. Medical support on race day is provided by UNC Health Pardee. The event is presented in partnership with Hunter Subaru and works with community partners such as the YMCA of Western North Carolina and the iDream Athletes Foundation.
