New Year's Resolution Run, Asheville, North Carolina
The 13th annual New Year's Resolution Run takes place on January 1, 2027 in downtown Asheville. The event offers two measured road race distances and is presented by Hunter Subaru. Registration deadlines affect included items and fees.
- 10K | 6.2 Miles
- 5K | 3.1 Miles
Both courses begin in Pack Square. The 5K heads north into the Montford neighborhood. The 10K follows a longer route that extends into the Grove Park area. Both routes conclude with a finish down historic Spruce Street and return to Pack Square. There will be a water station on course supplying water, Gatorade, and snacks. Most streets on the route remain open to traffic.
The event uses professional chip timing and awards overall and age group prizes. Cash prizes are provided for the overall top three male and female finishers in the 10K. The first 700 registrants receive a commemorative 2027 finisher medal. A free event sweatshirt is available for registrations completed before December 7th; a fee applies after that date. Complimentary non-alcoholic apple cider is offered at the finish. A post-race gathering takes place in Pack Square.
A virtual participation option is available; virtual participants receive mailed apparel and finisher items when offered. Permit approval is pending and the race date or course may change. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
