New Year's Resolution Run - Asheville, North Carolina
The New Year's Resolution Run is an annual road race presented by Hunter Subaru. The 13th edition takes place in downtown Asheville and includes both in-person and virtual participation options. Registration for the event opened on July 23, 2026. Permit approval is pending and the race date and course are subject to change.

- 5K
- 10K
Both courses begin in Pack Square. The 5K heads north into the Montford neighborhood while the 10K continues farther into the Grove Park area. Both routes conclude with a finish down historic Spruce Street back into Pack Square. There will be a water station on course providing water, Gatorade, and snacks. Most streets remain open to traffic, so participants should be aware of normal vehicle flow.
Event amenities and results include professional chip timing using a timing system, overall and age group awards, and cash prizes for the top three overall male and female 10K finishers. Early registrants receive a free event sweatshirt until December 7 (a fee applies after that date) and the first 700 registrants receive a commemorative 2027 finisher medal. A complimentary non-alcoholic apple cider is available at the finish and a post-race gathering takes place in Pack Square. Virtual participants receive mailed race shirt and finisher item.
