Wonder Run 5K and Kids Fun Run
The Wonder Run is an annual community event organized by the Wellesley Hills Junior Women's Club as part of Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend. Scheduled for May 17, 2026, the event takes place at Wellesley High School and features a road race and track-based activities for younger participants.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5 km (USATF-certified road race)
- 400 m (One lap around the track for ages 6 and under)
- 800 m (Two laps around the track for ages 7-10)
The 5 km course is a USATF-certified route through the streets of Wellesley, with both the start and finish lines located at the high school track. This race is open to runners and walkers of all ages.
The Kids Fun Run is held on the high school track and is divided into two separate age-based heats. Participation in the youth races is capped at 200 entrants. Alternatively, children are permitted to register for the full 5 km distance if preferred.
Proceeds from the event are used to fund scholarships for local students and to provide grants for community organizations focused on education and essential services.
