WNY Armed Forces Day 5K at Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park
The WNY Armed Forces Day 5K is scheduled for May 16, 2026 at the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park in downtown Buffalo, New York. The event honors those who have served and those currently serving in the military and is open to all community participants.
The course is listed as USATF Certified Course #NY21009JJ, though organizers note the route may be adjusted if necessary for road construction or other reasons. Registration is available online with an entry fee of $30. Participants who register by Wednesday, May 6 are guaranteed an official event shirt in their requested size; a limited number of extra shirts will be distributed after that on a first-come, first-served basis. All participants receive a keepsake collector coin.
Awards include trophies for the overall male and female 5K winners, and custom awards for the top three male and female finishers in each age group, with special awards for armed forces participants. Age divisions start at 14 and under and continue in 10-year increments through 80 and older.
Packet pickup and race-day registration take place at the Naval & Military Park near the start and finish area. After the race there will be light food and an awards ceremony. Free parking is available at or near the park. Professional RFID timing and real-time results will be provided and finish line photos and finisher certificates are available at no charge.
