Turk-EA Trot
The 11th Annual Turk-EA Trot is a community running event held on Thanksgiving morning in East Aurora, New York. The race starts and finishes at the Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora, with free village street parking and additional lots noted near Ace Hardware and the Town/Village Office.
The course consists of two loops of the park. Slower runners and walkers are asked to keep to the outside of the road so faster runners can pass on the inside; walkers are asked to use sidewalks on their second loop. Gun start and chip finish timing is provided using Jaguar Electronic RFID, with real-time results available through the event platforms and mobile app.
Registration is available online until the race start or until the field reaches the 1,000 participant limit; paper entries are accepted on race morning. An early packet pickup option is offered the Tuesday before the race at 42 North Brewing Company. Optional performance shirts are available for purchase.
Post-race activities take place in the Boys & Girls Club gym and include awards, apple cider, and homemade goodies. Awards include overall male and female, Senior Master (55+), top three in multiple age groups from 5 and under through 70 plus, and best costume for kids and adults. Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and a portion of proceeds benefits local Boys & Girls Clubs and nearby communities.
