Witterings Beach Run - West Wittering, Chichester
The Witterings Beach Run is a coastal trail event held on West Wittering Beach, a Blue Flag coastline. The course offers panoramic views of Selsey Bill, the Isle of Wight, Chichester Harbour, the Solent and the South Downs. At low tide, expansive sandy flats form the primary running surface and on-course water stations are available.
The event features marked routes using pink arrows and pink tape. Hazards and road junctions are signed with caution notices. First aid cover and marshals are provided along the route. Entries include chip timing, a metal finisher medal, a personalised certificate, on-course refreshments, a finisher goodie and a refreshing drink at the finish.
Three distances are offered:
- 15.3k
- 10k
- 5k
The routes are described as trail runs with modest elevation gains (approximately 25 m for the 15.3k, 17 m for the 10k and 7 m for the 5k). The event operates a plastic free policy so participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. One dog is permitted per runner; guidance for dog participants recommends bringing water, poo bags, treats and an appropriate lead. Spectators are welcome and parking is available via the West Wittering Estate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
