Withlacoochee Trail Marathon
The Withlacoochee Trail Marathon takes place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Two Mile Prairie Tract - Bear Head Hammock Recreational Area near Lecanto, Hernando County, Florida (7112 N. Lecanto Hwy / CR 491). The event includes the following distances:
- Marathon: 2 x 13.1-mile loops
- Half Marathon: 1 x 13.1-mile loop
- 10K: modified loop
The races are held on hiking and horse trails within the Two Mile Prairie Tract of the Withlacoochee Forest. Every registered runner receives a cotton t-shirt and post-race food.
Logistics and services
Bib pickup and race-day registration occur on race day, with registration opening one hour before the race. The course uses three aid stations stocked with water, electrolyte sports drinks, soda, pickles, chips, and PB&J; aid stations are placed at approximately five-mile intervals. Despite aid station spacing, each participant must carry a handheld, waist pack, or hydration pack.
Post-race awards include a finisher award for every runner and specially handcrafted awards for the top three males and females in each distance. Primitive camping is available in the equestrian campground (no water or power); the campground has been reserved for runners and allows tent, car, or RV boondock camping (generators permitted on Saturday). Several motels are listed within roughly 8–17 miles. A1 Ultra Events offers a rollover credit equal to 75% of the entry fee toward the following year (available until seven days before the race).
