The Witham May Day 10 is a 10 miles road race in Witham, Essex, organised by Witham Running Club. The event is based at Witham Rugby Club, Spa Road, Witham, CM8 1UN. The course leaves the rugby club area, runs through the surrounding villages, and returns to the rugby club. It is described as a rural all road course that is fast and undulating.
Entry fees are listed as £23 for affiliated runners, £25 for non affiliated runners, with on the day entries at £30. A sponsor for the event is Simarco.
Race numbers and timing chips are issued from the runner registration desk. Race numbers are non transferable and include a detachable baggage label for the baggage facility. The timing chip must be attached to the trainer and will be removed by volunteers after the run. A baggage area is provided but may be unmanned at times; items are left at the owner s risk.
Water stations are positioned at about 2 miles, 5 miles and 8 miles, with water also available at the finish. First aid is available in the finish area. Toilet and changing facilities are available at the rugby club but there are no showers. Muddy trainers are not permitted inside the rugby club.
