Event details
Search For Santa takes place on 17 Dec 2025. The event distance is 6 miles. It is a self-navigation trail race using a written route description that will be issued on the day. There are no course markings, no marshals and no GPX file. The event is not a mass start; participants will be timed out and back in at the finish. Participants will visit a secret destination with a cryptic clue that can earn time bonuses and will stop for a refreshment on the route. On the course people will look for Santas and chocolate. Results will be posted on essextrailevents.com.
Entry, safety and logistics
Race HQ is at The Compasses, Littley Green (postcode CM3 1BU). Entry fees are listed as £11 affiliated and £13 unaffiliated, plus a 50p booking fee. Entry includes two £3 vouchers. Confirmation of entry will be sent by email if an address is supplied on the entry form. The closing date for entries is 16 Dec 2025 at 12:00. Multiple start slots are offered; availability varies. As this is a night trail, participants must wear hi-viz clothing, carry a head torch or torch and carry a mobile phone. The organiser allows multiple bookings for friends but requires full details for each additional entrant and states there will be no refunds.
