About the race
The Wirral Way 5 Miler is a flat, fast out and back race held on Sunday 18 October 2026 along the Wirral Way, a pathway converted from an old railway line. The course starts at Thurstaston and heads towards West Kirby, following a gravel surface with views across the Dee Estuary to Wales and sections that are sheltered from the elements.
On event day the venue is Station Road, Thurstaston, Wirral CH61 0HN. Facilities listed for the event include on site toilets at the start and finish, a water station on the course and at the finish, chip timing provided via Nifty Entries, and number collection at the event tent. All finishers receive a bespoke RaceWirral Wirral Way medal and a goody bag.
Entries are open to people aged 12 to 89 on the event date for the 5 Miler. The entry fee is £25 plus a booking fee of 6 percent. Refunds are not accepted but transfers are allowed. Parking is available at the venue. Young and vulnerable participants must be supervised by a legal parent or guardian while on the course.
