Wirral Way 5-Miler
The Wirral Way 5-Miler is a running event held along the Wirral Way, a pathway established on a former railway line. Located at Station Road in Thurstaston, the course follows an out-and-back route towards West Kirby. The terrain consists of gravel underfoot and is characterized by a flat profile.
Participants follow a specific distance:
- 5 miles (approximately 8 km)
The route provides views over the Dee Estuary towards Wales. Because the path is sheltered, it is often protected from the elements. The event uses chip timing provided by Nifty Entries to record participant results.
On-site facilities at the start and finish area include toilets and parking. The organizers provide a water station on the course as well as at the finish line. Every participant who completes the distance receives a bespoke medal and a goody bag. Race numbers are collected on the day of the event from the designated event tent. The event is open to participants aged 12 and over, and those under 18 must be supervised by a parent or guardian while on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
