Wirral Seaside Runs
Wirral Seaside Runs is a series of six 5 km races organised by Pensby Runners. The races are held on the last Wednesday of each month from March to August, with this event listed as Seaside Race 6 on 26 August 2026. The location is Leasowe Lighthouse, Moreton Common, CH46 4TA, Wirral, United Kingdom.
The course starts close to Leasowe Lighthouse, follows the sea embankment and finishes at Harrison Drive near the Lifeguard Station. Most competitors run back to the start car park after finishing; otherwise participants need to arrange transport from the finish. The course is described as flat and fast and is used as a regular indicator of fitness and performance.
Race numbers can be collected on the day from the registration desk at Leasowe Lighthouse. Entry is open to ages 11 and over on the event date. The standard entry fee is £8.50 and UKA members receive a £2 discount upon verification. A guide entry category is available for guide runners who are guiding another paying entrant. Entrants are asked to keep their race number for reuse at future seaside races.
The series has run for over 30 years and is organised by Pensby Runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
