Ellesmere Port RC 5K
The Ellesmere Port RC 5K is a fast and flat road race held on a single-lap course. The route takes participants through rural lanes surrounding the village of Capenhurst in Cheshire. This event is held on closed roads to ensure a dedicated running environment. It is organized by the Ellesmere Port Running Club and is held in memory of athlete Neil Lavery.

The race is chip-timed, and the course holds a record of 13.55 for men and 16.37 for women. Race Headquarters is located at the Capenhurst Sports Ground, which serves as the location for collecting race numbers and timing chips. This area also functions as the designated warm-up zone. Parking for the event is available at the Capenhurst Technology Park.
Participants must be at least 13 years old on the day of the race. The organizers provide bottled water and ice cream for runners at the finish area. Monetary prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as winners in the veteran categories. An additional prize is available for setting a new course record.
The event is held under an EA license. In terms of registration, UKA affiliated runners receive a discount on the standard entry fee.
