Ellesmere Port RC 5K
The Ellesmere Port RC 5K is a single lap race on rural lanes around the village of Capenhurst, Cheshire. The course is described as fast and flat and is run over a distance of 5 km. The event is chip timed, with recorded course bests of 13:55 for male and 16:37 for female.
Race headquarters and number and timing chip collection are at Capenhurst Sports Ground, Capenhurst CH1 6HL. Parking is provided at Capenhurst Technology Park, Capenhurst, Chester CH1 6EH. Participants are asked not to warm up on Capenhurst Lane; the sports ground is the designated warm up area. Roads around the course may be open to traffic until 7:00pm on race day.
Prizes are offered for the first three overall male and female finishers (£100, £50, £25), first place in veteran categories (£25), and an additional prize of £250 for a new course record. Overall prizes are presented after the race; other prizes will be posted. Bottled water and a free ice cream are available at the finish area.
Entrants must be 13 or over on race day. Entry fees are £16 for UKA affiliated runners and £18 for non UKA affiliated runners. Cancellations may be made until 7 August 2026. The event holds an EA licence number 30497. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
