Seaside Race 2
Seaside Race 2 is one event in the Wirral Seaside Runs series, a sequence of six 5 km races organised by Pensby Runners. The races take place on the last Wednesday of the month from March to August and use a coastal route on the Wirral peninsula.
The course starts close to Leasowe Lighthouse in Moreton Common and runs along the sea embankment to a finish near Harrison Drive by the Lifeguard Station. Most competitors return on foot to the car park at the start; runners who do not should make their own transport arrangements from the finish area. Race numbers are available on the day from the registration desk at Leasowe Lighthouse from 5.45 p.m.
Entry is open to participants aged 11 and over on the event date. A guide entry option is provided for guide runners who are guiding another paying entrant. The races are described as a flat, fast course and are used by many runners as a regular indicator of fitness and performance. The series attracts club competitors and newer runners and has been part of the Merseyside running scene for around 30 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
